| http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/05/20/mexicos-calderon-takes-case-congress/How many of these congressmen have read the law? A foreign leader goes to Congress, condemns OUR laws, and our congress (half of them) applaud... MAKES ME SICK. I support every immigrant who wants to come here legally, and wholly support Catholic Charities who help LEGALLY immigrate those in need. Arizona's law is being misstated and misinterpreted by knee jerk reactionaries who want to cry RACISM without reading the law. When Calderon starts talking about what HE'S going to do to help his own citizens lives improve, then he can start throwing stones! Our country needs to reestablish our laws of immigration, then secure our borders and enforce those laws. We simply cannot be a country without laws. I am the granddaughter of four immigrants, who respected this country enough to immigrate legally. WHY is that no longer expected of those who wish to live and work here? It insults every immigrant who followed the law to simply support illegal immigration. We must individually show compassion, but as a Nation we MUST have laws. Without laws, NONE can show compassion; they'll be too busy living in fear. | |

| I know this must be a problem because I've often heard you CA people and often TX people complaining because obviously, you see this in your daily life more. The Canadian border doesn't present these problems so much. I have a nephew that works for the border control and is currently going through 6 month training at the New Mexico or Arizona border (I forget!). He was just telling us last week about the DROVES of people each day coming over to "buy shoes" i.e. work for the day or cross never to return. I think he is getting a real eye opening experience. | |

| I was very proud of the Arizona Governor for putting this new law in place. My sister lives in Tucson, and that's close to the border. The extreme amount of people illegally coming in to our country is mind-blowing. When politicians talk about amnesty, I could scream. If people want to come to the States, do it the legal way like all our ancestors had to do. I forget the numbers now, but the amount of people from Mexico illegally living in our country is overwhelming. Who pays for their care? Oh, that's right....we do. Borders need to be protected. People who want to harm Americans have a free pass, one way or another, into the U.S. It is very scary to me. | |

| To me, this should be the most common sense issue out there, something everyone could agree on. We secure our borders, and don't allow people into our country illegally. There's nothing immoral about that stand. How this issue has gotten so political is beyond me. | |
