Yipes Octomom but this house is a nightmare

17 people will occupy this 4 bedroom house. Even if all the adults were in one bedroom that leaves 3 bedrooms for 15 children.

The steps to the tile floor and the open balcony would be a nightmare with ONE baby let alone 15 children running wild in this house. Yipes !

I'll move this thread up top in a little bit but we need some threads down here right now.

Don't worry, Dr. Phil has a ton of people fixing it up for her, and a lady putting together the nursery who puts together nurseries for celebrities.

At least the house is reasonably priced for California. A steal really. . . I couldnt buy a condo around here for that.

i'm not even going to go there. This whole thing is so incredulous and to think these precious babies are going home with her. I do hope the dr. gets fined big time for his part in this.

With the amount of time octomom spends in the limelight, I wonder how much time she spends with the children she already has as well as the new babies in the hospital. It would seem minimal.

She also was spotted shopping over the weekend spending a large amount of money on expensive clothing.

I was *just about* beginning to feel sorry for her a week or so ago, but still think she's a few fries short of a happy meal.

It's amazing how many people are financially helping her!

I'd heard they were converting the living room into the nursery.

This woman brings out very unpleasant feelings in me.... I just wish that she would come to her senses and put those tiny precious babies up for adoption. Just think how different their lives would be to grow up in a small household where they were special and given lots of attention, than to grow up being one of 14 children, with any undivided attention from your mother being very infrequent. I know that there is so much controversy about having any laws passed regarding a woman's right to reproduction, but there should definitely be some type of guidelines that fertility doctors have to go by in regard to the ability of the potential mother to care for their babies before invitro takes place. It would be one thing if this woman had been childless when she sought invitro, but with 6 children already and no means of support, her doctor could very easily have refused to implant her again.

I wouldn't want to split all the babies up and put them up for adoption or put them in foster care, foster care is a horrible place a lot of the time. I think they need to stay with the mother and their siblings, even though she is a little off her rocker and can't afford to support them on her own I can tell she really loves them. I just pray that she doesn't go and have any more.


It does anger me though to see her getting so much help from people. I know everyone says they are doing it for the babies, and I do feel badly for the babies, but I feel she went and had all these kids to get the help from everyone she is getting. I think by helping her out so much with all this we are sending the wrong message to other women who maybe considering the same thing. If I just go pop out 10 kids at once that I can't afford I'll be on TV and famous and everyone will help me so it will be ok.

DHS already sends a similar message to women. I know because they sent that message to me once when I was younger. I went in to seek help paying some of my medical bills when I was having MRIs and such done for MS and I had no insurance or anything. The lady at DHS actually told me "Sorry we can't help you right now, but if you get pregnant come back and we can help you." Ok so you are telling a 23 year old who can't support herself or pay her medical bills right now that if she goes out and finds someone to get her pregnant and create another mouth to feed that she can't afford you will help her. Wrong message!!

You all should watch Dr. Phil on Monday. She is going to be on yet again and the audience gets to ask questions to her. One of the ladies in the audience says "Look it's great you are getting all these donations and such, but aren't these YOUR kids!"

I'm interested to hear what all the audience has to say and how she answers them.
