I dont agree with what the parents did but I do think they had a right - wow this is scary.

Adolph Hitler, JoyceLynn Aryan Nation and Honszlynn Hinler Campbell Taken into State Custody
It was just last month the world was introduced to Adolph Hitler, JoyceLynn Aryan Nation, and Honszlynn Hinler Jeannie Campbell after Adolph Hitler's parents raised a fuss about his birthday cake. The family was denied service by a New Jersey ShopRite store who refused to inscriAdolph Hitler Campbell and Sisters Removed from Home by Police
Date: January 15, 2009be the tot's birthday cake with "Happy Birthday Adolph Hitler."
Not even a month later, Adolph Hitler Campbell, 3, JoyceLynn Aryan Nation Campbell, almost 2, and Honszlynn Hinler Jeannie Campbell, almost 1, have been removed from the care of parents Heath and Deborah Campbell. The Nazi-named children were taken into the custody of New Jersey's Division of Youth and Family Services (DYFS), according to MSNBC.com.
While the spokesperson for DYFS refused to comment on the specifics of the Adolph Hitler Campbell case, Kate Bernyk told FOXNews.com the state's "decision to remove a child is based on the safety and well being of the child and the risk to that child, and that decision is made in conjunction with the courts and the county family court judge."
Is naming your child 'Hitler' considered child abuse?
After the initial news story broke regarding the Adolph Hitler birthday cake, many people have weighed in on whether naming a child 'Hitler' is considered child abuse.
Adolph Hitler Campbell's father Heath defended his son's unusual moniker, claiming it was unique.
FOXNews.com consulted forensic psychologist N.G. Berrill, who said naming a child Hitler could be considered child abuse. DYFS spokesperson Kate Bernyk, according to FOXNews.com, said the Campbell children were not removed from their parents' home simply based on Adolph Hitler's name.
I'm all for unusual names as my children both bear names people don't hear everyday, but to name a child after Adolph Hitler and Heinrich Himmler, men who were responsible for the Holocaust, is reckless at the very least.

The parents had to know that this was going to cause a stir, and that their child would be teased and ridiculed by other children and perhaps even adults. That right there would be common sense enough not to name your child Hitler. I think they should be made to change the name at least.

Well I agree its stupid but your child might get ridiculed for being called Richard Simmons too . . . would we make them change that or remove them from the home ?

My daughter get a lot of harrassment for her name - does that make it bad ?

I suspect the parents were into the whole skinhead movement so probably the children were taken because of some of thier activities but I dont think its right to make a fuss over the name. I'm sure there are other Saddam Hussein's out there or will be as well as Jeffrey Dahmer's etc. There shouldn't be a name you can't use.

Naming the child Adolf Hitler was stupid.

Taking the child away from his parents for that defines Nazi behavior.

Irony, anyone?

Those officials should be fired immediately and made to take a class on our constitution.

I agree renee IF thats why the children were taken

but I would imagine the parents were into some ugly stuff to even consider that as a proper name so it may be way more than the names that caused them to seize the children

Taking them away from the parents is a bit much, I agree.

But, naming your kid something that you know is going to make them miserable in life is ridiculous. There's freedom, and then there's freedom. Don't abuse it or you lose it.

Anyone with a lick of sense is not going to name their kid Adolph Hitler.

I don't know if I would call it "abuse"
but it's certainly a red flag the that parents are probably
not what you'd call ideal....
and I don't see problem with DHS looking into the home environment

BUT...on the other side

just shuttup and give the kid his danged cake....
at my job, we see kids all the time with names
that are the very least, difficult to pronounce,
spell...and in some cases....they are named
after famous people..or sometimes food or diseases....lol
we still serve the kids....."funny" name or not

I'm sorry, I have to disagree again. Please understand, if I knew these people, I would have talked their ears off trying to persuade them against naming their child that. BUT...

even if their reason was to hope that their son BECAME the next Adolf Hitler...

That type of thought and speech is protected by our constitution. Period. This is a freedom of speech issue. Hate speech is protected.

It's stupid, childish, and lame, but protected.

Now, if more evidence comes up supporting taking the kids, then of course, that's a different matter. But in today's atmosphere of governmental interference, I can see it happening.

I'm sure they named the child Adolph Hitler to prove a point - that they can most probably and the childs future comfort was of little concern to them ( sadly )

But well, its America . . . they can.

They could name the kid F*#k America if they wanted to. Ick but true. Its just a bunch of letters strung together and geesh I'll bet we've all known a Wui Wang or an Owh Dung or a Jack Canoff or an Ima Hoar or some other name that is distateful to some.

Its America. They can be idiots with thier kids names. Sad but true.

(I've actually known people with all those names - lololol - cept for the F America )
