At least not for a while. Probably a long while.

I am sick at the results of this election. I was upset when Clinton won twice, but it was nothing like this. There is so much I want to say, but the saying would hurt people here that I love.

So I'm going to go away for awhile.

My only prayer now is that this will finally be the impetus the conservative traditionalists need to organize and do it right. Otherwise...America as we know it is over.

I wish I could congratulate the Obama supporters, but I can't. Tonight, America lost.

America is a strong county because it is full of fail safes for democracy. Even if Obama turned out to be all the things you fear he can't destroy this country without help from hundreds of other individuals in all the right places and that's just not going to happen. He can't take down in 4 years what has been built here. If he fails, he will be done. There is nothing to fear.

We elected him presdent, not King.

Morgan I wish I could trust in what you say. The words make sense to my brain, but my fears run deep. I cannot believe this man was elected. It will take me a while to ever learn to trust him.

I have long believed in the pendulum of American Politics, though. I guess I just never ever thought it would swing *this far* left.

On the other hand, it looks like Californians are passing a law protecting farm animals, but not to build a Children's Hospital or to protect the unborn OR an underaged pregnant girl.

Today, I really really wish I were a drinking woman. Oh wait. I am. Damn this whole not on a school night thing.

I will pray on your words, Morgan, and thank you for taking the time to respond to me. This is the only community on the web I visit anymore. I just don't want to hurt anyone with my words right now.

My feelings are pretty much the same as yours. But, there isn't anything we can do. So you just have to bite your tongue and hope that those that voted for him hold him to his word.

If they don't and begin to make excuses for him I will be very disappointed. The fact that it was decided so early when so many States were pretty close makes me wonder.

It did make me sad when many Black people were interviewed and asked if Race played an issue in how they voted they said yes.

Imagine if White Voters said that. That would be considered Racist.

However, he has promised a lot and continued to promise to do all the things he has told us he would do, I will accept no excuse from anyone if he goes back on those promises. And I really mean it when I say I don't want to hear excuses from his supporters.

I am sad, very sad. But it will be ok Renee.

Black voters who have been held down so long are voting to be heard, therefore their vote is influenced by race.

If the next 20 presidents are black - I'm sure white people will vote for white candidates at that time simply because of thier color. I don't see anything racist about that. Just my opinion of course.

It's simply not unusual to vote for that which you are comfortable with. What truly amazes me is the overwhelmingly white audience for the Obama win. This is truly a man who crossed color barriers to bring people together. I find that awesome. Awesome that he can inspire that and awesome that the country is so ready for this.

God Bless America

Renee, I'm not sure how your politics and membership of this Board are connected. Could you not just come here for the friendship and discuss politics off board?

I know I don't post much, but I do read alot (I know Morgan will bite me lol) and you are a very valuable and wonderfully contributing member.

Please rethink your decision.

Renee, please don't let this get you so down. I feel as you do, but maybe our fears will be unfounded. There is always HOPE ht

I have to agree with OJ. Politics aside, Renee, you have so much to offer this board. You are a voice of reason. You have a great sense of humor. You are an advocate, something people here value so much.

Take some time if you need it, but you are a friend - I hope your time away will be brief. ht

When things get rough is when you truly need a friend - I hope you stay.

I doubt there will be much talk of politics anymore the way there was before.

the election is a done deal now, Renee. we all need to move on, with a glimmer of hope that allthings will work themelves out, from our standpoint. where i am concerned this country has gradually been leaning towards a socialistic society, we can't deny the resounding approval in that direction by the majority. we can't know what the future holds, but never give up your ideals. i haven't with mine. outnumbered as we may be.

...and yes. i suggest you avoid any future political threads, but remain in touch with the board. it's important for you to remember that, no matter where you stand on politics, you are very respected AND loved here. we'll miss you greatly, if you leave Sad

Renee, I feel exactly like you do. I just don't understand someone that
wouldn't be able to get a security clearance to work in the White House
is now going to move in as the President. It just boggles my mind.

All
I can hope is that those that voted for him and believed he would keep
his promises hold his feet to the fire and demand he follow through.

I
don't want to hear excuses. I am not asking for much, I am just asking
that he not get another pass from here on in, that's all.

Anyway
Renee, we will all be moving on here before long and there will be lots
of new topics, and you know how everyone is here, you can always find
lots of love and hugs, and you know Morgan likes everyone to be
sensitive to other's feelings. So, don't go anywhere, it will be just
fine.

As the saying goes, "there's no place like home"
